Shannon Heritage endeavour to preserve our culture and heritage, traditions and customs, castles and places of history for future generations to enjoy. Our attractions bring visitors into the magic and mystery of the Prehistoric, Celtic, Viking, Anglo-Norman and native Irish communities starting 5000 years ago and continuing to the present day.

We have been entertaining visitors in our medieval castles since 1963. In that time almost 4.5 million people have enjoyed evenings in four distinct and unique venues:

Shannon Heritage was one of the first companies in Ireland to develop and run heritage attractions and Medieval Castle entertainments. The portfolio of attractions started in 1963 with Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet which was originally developed as a destination magnet to keep visitors in the Shannon region, Shannon Heritage has since grown to become a market leader in the tourism industry both at home and abroad.

Since 1963, Shannon Heritage’s portfolio has developed hugely from that one product, Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet, to now include 7 day visitor experiences and 4 evening entertainments, all of which attract vast audiences from all over the world.

The day visitor attractions include the world famous Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, King John’s Castle, Craggaunowen –The Living Past Experience, Knappogue Castle & Walled Garden, Dunguaire Castle, Lough Gur Stone Age Centre and Brian Boru Heritage Centre, Killaloe.

Our attractions are not only popular with tourists, but are also extremely popular with school groups, families, senior excursions, incentive and corporate groups, social clubs and community groups. Our event days, bringing traditional Irish customs alive, attract vast Irish audiences.
